Services Offered:
Nightingale Lactation offers compassionate, evidence-based lactation support to help you meet your feeding goals with confidence. Whether you are preparing for birth, navigating the early days with your newborn, or working through a feeding challenge later on, we are here to support you every step of the way.
Initial Visit- 75 Minutes
Offered either in clinic or in the comfort of your own home. In an initial visit, we will review current questions, concerns and feeding plan followed by a feeding assessment which may include: latch and positioning check, weighted feeding, pumping and bottle feeding assessment. Baby is often weighed before and after direct nursing to assess how much milk is being transferred from the breast. We will then develop a feeding plan specific to your goals and health of your baby.
In clinic visits will allow to bill insurance. In person visit also offered as home visit for out-of-pocket cost, $300. All out-of-pocket pay will be provided with a “superbill” to submit to insurance for potential reimbursement.
Follow Up Visits- 60 minutes
After we have done our initial consult, we come back to you to assess any follow up needs. These visits are ideal to assess any improvement in baby’s ability to transfer at the breast, when weaning from bottle feeding, pain with latch, nipple shield use, etc. Follow up visits are offered both in clinic and in the home.
Insurance will be billed for office visits, home visits will be paid out-of-pocket, $275. Superbill provided for out-of-pocket pay.
Prenatal visit- 30-45 minutes
Offered virtually or in person. Set yourself up for success by scheduling a prenatal, one-on-one visit. Whether you are a first time mom, or feeding did not go as planned with previous children. We will review any questions and concerns, what to expect once baby is born, latch and positioning basics, how to recognize effective feeding, as well as creating a plan of care that fits your goals and lifestyle.
Insurance billed if seen in office, or, $100 out of pocket fee for virtual visit.
Virtual Visits- 60 minutes
If in-person support is not an option for you, we offer virtual visits. Virtual visits are ideal if you have any questions or concerns that do not need in-person assessment. If your lactation consultant believes you need in-person follow up, she will provide you with the appropriate resources and referral information. This visit type may be ideal for general breastfeeding questions, prenatal visits, returning to work, weaning, plugged ducts, and mastitis.

Home Visit Package
Includes initial 75 minute home visit, 60 minute follow-up home visit, as well as two 15 minute follow up calls, and 2 weeks of messaging support.
$550
Or- Initial 75 minute home visit with 30 minute follow up call and 2 weeks of messaging support if paying out of pocket.

Add on's
For an additional 30 minutes per visit, there will be a $50 surcharge.
A 20% surcharge may be applied if out of service area and/or for weekend visits. This will however be established at time of scheduling and will not be charged if not discussed.

Payment
Nightingale lactation is now accepting some insurances if seen in office! Please click here to review a list of accepted insurances!
If your insurance is not accepted or you prefer a home visit, your lactation consultant will provide you with a document called a “super bill” to submit to insurance with ICD codes included.
Cost and Insurance
Under the Affordable Care Act, health insurance plans must cover counseling and breastfeeding supplies for pregnant and nursing women. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be able to get help with breastfeeding at no cost to you. Check with your insurance company to find out more. See link below for more information on this.
You may also be eligible to use HSA or FSA card for lactation services.
