Meet your lactation consultant:
KATIE RHODES, RN, IBCLC
Katie was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C and eventually settled in Black Diamond, WA. Katie has specialized in women and infant health since 2015. It was here that her passion for assisting families in their feeding journey’s began. After working as a nurse for 3 years, she was awarded a scholarship for the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant training and education. Since, she has worked as a lactation consultant both in the hospital and in an outpatient clinic setting.
To Katie, every mother-baby dyad are completely unique, which is part of the reason why she loves what she does. She believes that carefully identifying a family’s goals, and taking into account a mother and baby’s well-being is of the utmost importance. Katie specializes in making tailor-made feeding plans that help you meet your feeding goals and your baby’s needs.
Katie has 2 young daughters that she spends most of her free time with. When her daughters were born, they were both considered, “small for gestation age”. It is because of this that she is an advocate for prenatal breastfeeding education and hand expression.
