Frequently asked questions.
What is an IBCLC?
An IBCLC is an International Board Certified Lactation consultant. They are considered experts in their field.
What to expect in an in-home lactation visit?
Depending on your needs, typically it is best to try not to feed your baby within an hour of your appointment time. This will ensure baby is hungry during your visit. Your lactation consultant will bring a scale to weigh your baby. As your are feeding, or pumping, you will discuss your questions and concerns. If you are breastfeeding, you will likely weigh your baby after you feed them to see how much milk was transferred. Your consultant will then work with you and your family to come up with a plan of care that meets your goals and baby’s needs.
Do you only offer in-home visits?
No. We also offer telephone and video visits as well as support groups!
